Carbohydrate drink

Aspiration precautions
Your team flagged a higher risk that food or liquid could come up from the stomach.
Follow the clock at the top. Clear water only. No carbohydrate drink.
ANESTHESIA CONSULT REQUIRED before scheduling.
GLP-1 medicine
You take semaglutide (weekly). Higher-risk factors: escalation phase, high dose, weekly dosing. Follow the liquid-diet clock above. Keep taking your GLP-1 medicine unless the anesthesia team tells you to stop. Anesthesia will decide on stomach ultrasound and the airway plan.
NSAID pain medicine
You may take your usual NSAID, such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or celecoxib, unless your surgeon named a different plan. You do not need a 7-day stop.
What to bring
Photo ID, your medication list, and a plan for a ride home after Hysterectomy.
Movement before surgery
Each day until surgery: walk 20–30 minutes, stand up from a chair 10 times for 2 sets, take 10 deep breaths every hour you are awake, and eat protein at each meal.
After surgery
The team will help you drink, eat, and get out of bed early, unless they tell you a specific limit. This sheet does not replace the order your surgeon writes.
This is teaching material for a demo case. Your surgeon’s written instructions win if they differ.
